Definition Of Mechanical Shaft Seal

Shaft seal is a sealing device installed to prevent leakage between the pump shaft and housing. Commonly used shaft seal types are packing seal, mechanical seal and power seal. The shaft seal of reciprocating pumps is usually a packing seal. When conveying media that is not allowed to leak, diaphragm reciprocating pumps can be used. The shaft seals of rotary pumps (including vane pumps, rotary lobe pumps, etc.) mainly include packing seals, mechanical seals and power seals.
