Shaft sealing
In the past, shaft seal boxes containing mechanical seals were stuffing boxes designed for soft stuffing seals. It is not suitable for mechanical seals, not only is the size too small, the gap is too narrow, but also the simple cylinder shape is not suitable.
Foreign countries have formulated standards for enlarged size mechanical seal shaft sealing boxes. In addition, the United States _ Duramitelek and the British Fluid Mechanics Research Group are studying a reasonable mechanical seal shaft seal box, the shape of which should not only be conducive to fluid flow and heat dissipation, but also conducive to the removal of solid particles, creating a good surrounding environment for the seal.


Volatile substance escape control
In the past, only attention was paid to eliminating visible fluid leakage, and not to the control of the amount of invisible volatile material escape, which caused environmental pollution and was dangerous to the device and people. Foreign countries such as the American Tribological Society and the Lubrication Engineers Society of Sealing Technical Committee have developed SP-30 (1994), SP-32 (1990) and SP-33 (1991) control volatile evolution regulations for rotating machinery, compressors and screw systems with mechanical seals. The SP-30 was implemented in three stages. It clearly defines blocking fluid and buffer fluid, and clarifies the concept of error and confusion. Blocking fluid is a fluid that introduces a double seal between completely blocking process fluid to leak into the surrounding environment. The pressure of the blocking fluid is always higher than the pressure of the process fluid being sealed. The buffer fluid is the fluid used as a lubricant or buffer between the two seals, and the buffer fluid pressure is always lower than the pressure of the process fluid being sealed.


Supporting the auxiliary system
The auxiliary system of the mechanical seal has cooling, heating, flushing and other systems that need to be matched, the pump cycle needs to be optimized, and the status monitoring system and other problems are being studied and solved. The companionship of the auxiliary system is specified in the API-682 standard.


Gas blocking sealing system
In the past, liquid blocking liquid or liquid blocking gas was commonly used in blocking sealing systems In order to simplify the large blocking liquid system, switch to blocking gas to block liquid or gas blocking sealing system, spiral groove gas sealing and blocking gas, floating sleeve and blocking gas, etc. can be used to block gas and liquid.
